“You’re off to Great Places! Today is your day! Your mountain is waiting, So… get on your way!” Dr. Seuss, Oh the Places You’ll Go
Re-reading Dr. Seuss’ books in adulthood are probably one of the best things ever. They’re so simple, yet so powerful.
Tomorrow, I start a new chapter in my career and these words couldn’t have greater impact. It’s funny how things work out…but after today, I feel more ready than ever.
It all started with church where the pastor spoke on returning to your first love. It was such an amazing sermon…it really hit home. No matter how far we may stray or go away, we’re always loved and that love is the best love of all.
Then we had our friends LaLa and Howie and their kids over for lunch. While they were visiting, we recreated pictures of the kids when they were younger. When the first baby came into our lives 10 years ago we had no idea how to do this parenting thing. But now our kids are playing together and enjoying each other’s company (by the way…how cute are they?!)
Sometimes we forget just how many ‘firsts’ we’ve had but between church and the time spent with friends, I’m feeling much more ready for tomorrow. Even though new beginnings can be daunting and sometimes overwhelming, they’re necessary and so far I’ve handled them quite well… 😉
So on that note, I’m off to great places…I’ve gotta get on my way.
