Noahism: Enough

I just picked up this cutie (see pic above) from a birthday party. As soon as he saw me he said “ok let’s go!” Weird I thought but I chalked it up to tiredness. We went to say thank you to the birthday boy’s mom and this happened:

Me: Thank you for having Noah.
Birthday Boy’s Mom: It was our pleasure. I’ve got to tell you I did a miscounted of the kids and we were one loot bag short. Noah willingly gave up his loot bag to another kid. I’m so sorry about that, but that was so nice of him!

I was not at all shocked, but boy was I proud of Noah. As soon as we got outside, before I could tell him how proud I was of him, the tears started flowing. Noah was heartbroken that he wasn’t chosen to play on the birthday boy’s team. He felt like he wasn’t good enough. Heartbreak hotel much?

Here I am thinking “Forget the fact that you didn’t play on his team! You were probably the most considerate kid there today! That’s what matters most. You’re enough!! You’re more than enough!! And you proved it by your actions.”

So I told him just that, because it’s my job as a mom is to let my kids know they’re enough, even when in a certain moment they don’t feel like it.

  1. Awwww, Noah is truly an amazing kid and you’re an amazing Mom. So proud of you both ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
