Kids and jobs

What I love most about my kids is that their career choices change often. On any given day, they’ve got something different that they want to do to make a living. More often than not their choices are linked to what brings them most joy at that time.

For example, Noah…for the past 3 months he’s wanted to be an actor. Tonight, the night before the start of his soccer season, the night he got his brand new cleats…he wants to be a professional soccer player.

“Mom, not for Europe or South America but for Canada. I can be the one that will make Canada a great soccer nation!”

Aside from the fact he called it soccer (because it’s football…you know that right?), I encouraged his dream because I admire that they tie their career choices to their happiness. It’s really the only way. Do what you love, love what you do, right?
