Noahism: Equal vs. fair

Morning hangs with the sock less one. We’re talking about equality.

He tells me “Equal doesn’t mean fair mom. Equal means equal. Fair means fair.”

I tell him he can’t define a word using the same word.

He tells me “Well. If I have a lot and someone else doesn’t have a lot, if we get equal amounts, I still have more. If we get what’s fair, the person with less will get more than me, so we have the same amount.”

Then as he was walking away to get his socks he says ‘but seriously? Where’s the fun in playing fair?’, with a devious laugh.

I think he gets it…
