Trust

Guys, I’ve been told that I’m not the best driver. My question to those who make that statement is usually ’but did you die?’. Personally, I think I’m a great driver…but if I really had to take kudos for something, it would be my boss 👑 parking skills (except for that one time in Trinidad but there was a reason for that 😩).
I always reverse park…unless I’m at the grocery ⬅️ learnt that the hard way many years ago. Actually on that note, The Captain showed me research that claimed our parking behaviour says a lot about us. Specifically it said that people who reverse park are smart and sweet, sincere and always right 🙌🏾. Haha. So no…while that CAN be inferred, the article said that those who reverse park are typically ‘planners’. You know…if you plan a little before you park, your exit is usually smooth and simple.
Anyway, since I got my new car, I’ve found that it’s taking me a lot longer to reverse park. We’re talking about 3 tries to reverse into a spot. So basically…a lot of planning. It’s frustrating and quite frankly…embarrassing. The reason for the change? The car has cameras that are supposed to guide me. You’d think that wouldn’t be an issue, but herein lies the problem. I found that I was putting greater dependence on what I see in the cameras instead of what I learnt/know.
So the last two days, I intentionally ignored that big screen in my car 🤷🏾‍♀️ and just went back to the basics. And yup…I’ve been parking in one shot.
Boss parking skills reactivated ✨.
Reminded me that sometimes, trusting in what I know to be true is necessary to successfully navigate through the situations that I see around me.
Psalm 112: 7 They will have no fear of bad news; their hearts are steadfast, trusting in the Lord.
