It’s nice to be loved, but it’s more important to love – it’s human nature to wait to receive things. We wait for the other person to smile first, we wait for the other person say hello first, or we wait for the other person to give a hug. But when we’re the first to give any of these things…receiving it becomes so much better. But let’s be honest, sometimes the love that we give may seem that it’s just not being returned, which leads me to my second point…
Because someone doesn’t love you the way you want to be loved, it doesn’t mean they don’t love you with all they have – don’t expect others to show their love in the same way that you show yours. When we realize that everyone has different love languages, our expectations become secondary to us just accepting their love in the way that they’re most comfortable showing it. Having said that, the way they show their love should still be in ways that build up and not tear down. Always, always, always remember that…
Love is patient, kind, always protects, always trusts, always hopes – actions speak louder than words, when we love someone, despite our different ways of showing it, it should always be shown in positive ways. Ways that make them feel safe and secure, and when others love us we should feel the same…love does not ‘delight in evil’. Often the ‘not-so-good’ feelings in life are because of fear. Fear and love cannot and will never be able to co-exist; one will stifle the other out. Let love win!
With that, I say “Have an awesome love day today!”
Maybe even call someone you haven’t spoken to in a while to simply to say ‘I love you’.
Love,
T
